I Didn’t Need Another Job… I Needed Another Option

If you’re more of a “start from the beginning” person, I shared the very first part of this journey here: Blog 1

For a long time, I thought the answer was just to work harder.

Pick up more hours.
Budget better.
Cut back more.
Push through.

And honestly… I already was.

I had responsibilities.
Bills.
A career.
A life that looked completely normal from the outside.

Nothing was technically “wrong.”

But deep down, I kept having this quiet thought:

“What happens if life gets more expensive?”
“What happens if something unexpected happens?”
“What happens if I want more freedom later?”

Not because I wanted luxury.
Not because I was lazy.
Not because I expected easy money.

The strange part is…
I wasn’t even looking for another job.

I didn’t want to trade more hours for more exhaustion.

What I really wanted was:

  • flexibility
  • options
  • breathing room
  • a way to build something alongside my normal life

And once I started looking at it that way…
everything shifted.

If you’re wondering where the shift in perspective really started for me, I shared more about that in Blog 5

It was about creating possibilities I hadn’t seen before.

And eventually… I decided to stop just watching from the sidelines Blog 7
