If you’re wondering where this shift really started for me, I shared more of that earlier here
Blog 3: For a Long Time, I Thought I Was Doing Everything Right Financially.
Once I started questioning what ‘safe’ really meant…I thought things would get easier.
They didn’t

And it’s definitely not that people don’t want more.
So why do so many people stay stuck?
For me… it came down to one thing:
Overthinking every possible outcome.
What if it doesn’t work?
What if I waste time?
What if I make the wrong decision… again?
And the worst one… What if I regret it?
So instead of moving forward, I did what most people do.
I stayed where I was. Not because I loved it… But because it felt familiar.
The truth is, staying stuck can feel safer than trying something new.
Even if you’re:
- Frustrated
- Bored
- Wanting more
Because at least you know what to expect.
There’s no uncertainty in staying the same
But here’s what I didn’t realize at the time…
Doing nothing is a decision.
And it comes with its own risks.
Time passes either way.
Opportunities come and go.
And eventually, “later” turns into “I wish I would have…”
I don’t think people need to make huge, life-altering moves overnight.
But I do think more people would feel less stuck…
if they gave themselves permission to explore something different—
even just a little.
Not jump.
Not gamble.
Just… explore.
Because sometimes the thing keeping you stuck
isn’t your situation—
It’s waiting for certainty that doesn’t exist.
There’s no guaranteed outcomes with anything—just different paths and levels of effort. Everyone’s journey looks different.
I used to think clarity came first…
Now I’ starting to think it comes after you take a step.
Because knowing something needs to change…and actually doing something about it are know different things.
And that changed more than I expected.
And maybe that’s the part no one really talks about…
You can be doing everything right—
and still feel like something isn’t clicking.
Not because you’re doing it wrong…
…but because you’re starting to outgrow what you’ve been doing.
That’s where I found myself.
Not burnt out.
Not failing.
Just… aware.
Aware that staying where I was—even if it looked “stable”—
might actually be the bigger risk long-term.
And that realization?
That’s what pushed me to take a closer look at what I had always considered “safe.”
Because what I thought was protecting me…
might have been the very thing holding me back.
If any part of this resonated with you, I’d genuinely love to know.
Are you in a season of wanting more… or just trying to hold things together right now.
